Estella Byrd Whitman Health Center Appoints New Chief Executive Officer

Ocala, FL, March 4, 2024 -Estella Byrd Whitman Wellness (EBWCHC) is pleased to announce the appointment of Levonda Goodson as Chief Executive Officer. She succeeds Founder, Carolyn Adams.
Levonda has been in healthcare for over 23 years as a nurse and in administrative positions. She was employed with Heart of Florida Health Center for 14 years in various roles within the organization, which has afforded her a vast knowledge of clinical and operations of health centers including Federally-Qualified Health Centers. She has been instrumental in the opening of eleven of Heart of Florida Health Center’s locations and the Program Manager of the COVID-19 vaccine and monoclonal antibody program (2020)

“The healthcare field has been a lifelong passion that has culminated in this wonderful opportunity. We want to work with our community to help them achieve any health-related goals we can,” states Levonda Goodson. “We are here and will continue to build the trust of the community, provide quality healthcare, and become the medical home for our residents.”

Levonda has her Bachelors and Masters in Healthcare Administration, is certified as part of the council of Lean Six Sigma Green Belt. All this has given her a thorough understanding of defined measures, analysis, improved control models, and clinical operations.

Levonda is a Marion County native and is dedicated to accessible and affordable healthcare for all that live in Marion County. During her free time Levonda loves traveling and spending time with her family, especially her 2 beautiful grandchildren.

The center currently offers Primary Healthcare, Basic Lab Services, Referrals to Specialty care, Chronic Care Management and Education, and Patient Care Coordination. The vision of the Byrd-Whitman and Adams family for the residents of West Ocala to have a medical home, the center was established in 2018.
