Levonda Goodson Appointed the New CEO of the Estella Byrd Whitman Health Center

Levonda Goodson is not focused on trying to fill the shoes of her predecessor, Carolyn Adams, founder and former CEO of the Estella Byrd Whitman Community Health Center, formerly known as the Estella Byrd Whitman Wellness and Community Resources Center. Instead, she is charting her own path to success. 

Adams, who is entering her third retirement after 55 years in healthcare, appointed Goodson, the former Chief Clinical Operations Officer for the Heart of Florida Health Center, as the new CEO in January. Adams only considered one other person for the position. 

“I chose Levonda because she knows the community. She is extremely trustworthy and felt she could take the clinic to the next level if the opportunity presented itself,” she said. 

In December 2023, Adams said she faced some health issues she could not avoid, and Levonda was her angel, and she can’t thank her enough for her support.
